September 26, 1921 – February 8, 2012
Our wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and GiGi was born in Chislehurst, Kent. She joined Saddler Wells Ballet in London at an early age, but left to join the RAF (WAAF) at the beginning of WWII, where she went on to become a flight officer mentioned in dispatches for her service. Roy, a fighter pilot with the RCAF, met his lovely lady in 1941 at Peterhead, Scotland where both were stationed. They married in 1943 in London, and in 1944 moved to Saskatoon with their newly born daughter when Roy was re-deployed back to Canada. At the end of the war they continued living in Saskatoon while Roy completed his university education, moving then to Prince Albert, back to Saskatoon and finally to West Vancouver in 1960 with their four children,
Margot will be sadly missed by Roy, her husband of 68 years, her sister Yvonne Grimstone of London, England, her children, Gail (Jim) Biggan, Lynne (John) Van Brunt, Graham (Marilyn) Wozniak and Lee (David) Sheridan, her nine grandchildren and her twelve great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Anis Lahka for her many years of support, along with the staff of Amica in West Vancouver, and all the nurses and caregivers that have been so helpful over the last few weeks.
A celebration of Margot’s life for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
