Mary held several jobs throughout her life and concluded her working career with more than 20 years of service at the Workers’ Compensation Board, a role she loved.
In 1993, Mary married her wonderful Adolf Matzhold, and together they enjoyed travelling, spending time with friends, and going to the Austrian Club.
Later in life, Mary discovered lawn bowling and quickly fell in love with it. She became a regular at the West Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club, taking part in weekly games, tournaments, and social events. She also stayed active through needlepoint, painting, water aerobics, and walking.
Mary passed away peacefully on July 24, on her own terms, with friends by her side.
Predeceased by both Peter and Adolf, Mary is survived by few family members, and many dear friends.
A small reception will be held at the West Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club.
