Richard was a true gentleman.....and truly a gentle man. He was blessed with a great intellectual curiosity which led to his pursuit of a variety of interests. He also did not suffer fools gladly.
I can recall many fun times that Helen and I spent at the Brandt home, feasting on marvellous dinners, followed  by Richard at the grand piano (after much coaxing) as we listened, enthralled by his playing. 
We've lost a good man, but the wonderful memories will remain.
