Jimmie Major McPayne

He was born in Lake Charles on June 25, 1945 to Juanita and Preston McPayne. Jimmie later met and married Doris Shows the love of his life. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 106 for a number of years. Jimmie enjoyed gardening; he was good at grafting fruit trees and specialized in Bonsai trees. He also enjoyed the outdoors particularly fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Doris Shows McPayne; son, James Michael Hubbs; daughters, Cindy Lee Miller and Catherine Michelle Leber; brothers, Owens McPayne and Larry McPayne; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Juanita Robertson McPayne; son, Daniel Patrick McPayne; and brother, Leroy McPayne.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 2pm to 8pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. His funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
