Mary Vassilissa Fontenot

She was born in Pine Prairie, LA and lived in Westlake, LA. She was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church and a member of the Rosary Group. Mary worked as a Nursing Assistant at St. Patrick Hospital and as a Beautician in her younger years of life. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Mary loved gardening, growing flowers, and cooking. Mary was a very caring and loving person, when help was needed she was always there to lend a hand. She was always thinking of others and put them before herself.

Mary will be dearly missed by her daughter, Dorothy Deshotel Odum of Moss Bluff; son, James Richard Deshotel and wife, Elizabeth of Vidrine, LA; brother, P.L. Deville and wife, Dot of Springfield, MO; sister, Annie Bell Deville of Westlake, LA; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Ann Mier and husband, Bubba of Vidrine, LA, Joshua Deshotel of Vidrine, LA, Robin Deshotel of Reddell, LA, and Becky Ann Odum of Moss Bluff, LA; 6 great grandchildren, Lauren Deshotel, Tyler Devillier, Drew Godeaux, Parker Menier, Cade Godeaux, Gracie Godeaux; nieces, nephews and many many friends.

Her funeral will be 10 am Monday, January 21, 2013, in St. John Bosco Catholic Church. The Rev. Mike Borras and Rev. Fred Reed will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday 10am -9pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake with a Rosary at 6pm. Visitation will resume at 8-9am Monday. Burial will be at Westlake Memorial Gardens.
