Rena Spearing, 82, of Shreveport, LA passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023. She was a resident of Westlake, LA for 59 years. She was born February 13, 1940 to parents Ovey and Agnes Cormier.

Rena enjoyed playing computer games, gardening, watching Days of our Lives, saying her rosary and hugs from her great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her rice dressing, gumbo, and pecan pies.

Rena is welcomed into Heaven by her husband of 56 years, Robert “Rabbit” Spearing; parents, Ovey and Agnes Cormier; stepfather, Leon Ardoin; son, Greg Spearing; granddaughter, Samantha Spearing; 2 sisters and 5 brothers

Those left to cherish her precious memory are her daughters, Celia Cain (Rodney) of Shreveport, LA, Debbie Spearing and Roxanna Spearing of Austin, TX, and son, Robby (Susan) of Billings, MT; her grandchildren, Marie East (Colton), Jesse Spearing, Cindy Hazmuka, Ashley Spearing, Simon Spearing, Christopher Rodrigues, and Andre Gasvoda; several great grandchildren; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

A visitation will be held for Rena on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel located at 2409 Westwood Rd. Westlake, LA. A rosary will be recited at 11 a.m. and a funeral service celebrating Rena's life will immediately follow visitation at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Deacon Reed will officiate. Graveside service will follow at Westlake Memorial Cemetery.
