Vercie Doucet Wilkins

She was born on January 4, 1930 in Mowata, LA. She loved sewing, crocheting and making quilts for her many children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

She is survived by her son, Dalton Aubry Wilkins Jr. and wife, Tina; daughters, Annette Marie McBride and husband, Charles, Sandra Dee Dunn and husband, Lonnie; brothers, Houston Doucet, Wilridge Doucet, George Doucet; sister, Nelda McManus; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Dalton Aubry Wilkins, Sr. and her parents, Paulus and Mamie Doucet as well as her son, Lloyd Paul Wilkins.

Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church. Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Pallbearers assisting in her service will be Cassidy Wilkins, Clinton McBride, Jerad Wilkins, Justin Wilkins, Corey Dunn and Chadd Turnage. Burial will be in Westlake Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on Friday from 4-9 p.m. with rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and continue until time of service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations for masses to be said in her name.
