Virginia moved to Westlake, Louisiana, in 1961, where she made lifelong memories and friendships. She graduated from Westlake High School in 1967 and later pursued higher education at McNeese State University. In 1996, she proudly earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, and criminal justice—an accomplishment that reflected her dedication, perseverance, and love of learning.
In her younger years, Virginia enjoyed bowling alongside her parents and brothers and proudly placed first in a state tournament with her mother. With her mother serving as a coach, Virginia also developed a love for athletics, particularly softball and basketball.
Virginia devoted 25 years of her life to working as a tax professional, serving her clients with integrity, care, and commitment until her passing.
She cherished time spent at the beach and in Gulf Shores, creating lasting memories filled with laughter alongside friends and her coworkers.
Virginia found great joy fishing for white perch at Toledo Bend with her husband and father, but nothing brought her more happiness than her grandchildren, who were truly the love of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Al Olivier; her grandson, Taylor Olivier; her brother, Doug Robertson, and his wife, Carolyn; her sister, Sharon Manuel; her sister-in-law, Julie Hicks; and her mother- and father-in-law, Margaret and Joseph Olivier.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, James Alden Olivier; her son, Michael Olivier, and wife, Terra; her brother, Donald Robertson Sr., and wife, Sherry; and her cherished grandchildren, Bradey Olivier and Darian Olivier.
She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers- and sisters-in-law: Jr. and Vicki Olivier, Dale and Christy Olivier, Greg Olivier, Timmy Olivier, Cynthia Parker and Jimmy, David and Monica Olivier, Chris Olivier, Beverly and Greg Lantz, and Wayne and Lisa Olivier, along with a host of numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will welcome the public for visitation at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake Sunday, January 11, 2026 from 4pm until 9pm with a rosary held at 6pm. Visitation will resume Monday, January 12, 2026 at 10am until time of funeral service at 1pm. Interment will follow at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery.
