I was so grateful to attend Deedee’s heartfelt memorial service—it was a wonderful tribute to the incredible person she was. We were friends for many, many years, (Republic Steel days) and I will always cherish the memories we shared. Though I didn’t get a chance to speak with Todd or Bethany that day, I just want you to know how much she meant to me. Wishing you comfort as you celebrate her remarkable life.

Thank you everyone for coming and sharing to celebrate Deedee's life.  It was great seeing so many of you.

DeeDee and I worked together at American Greetings and she became one of my dearest and closest friends.  DeeDee had the kindest heart and most generous spirit.  She volunteered at her Church and at The Discovery Shop and was always taking a meal or something sweet to someone in need.  What an amazing cook and baker she was.  She would make a pot of soup and bring containers of it to work to share with her coworkers, or a pan of brownies and she didn’t even like chocolate, but knew we all did.  

DeeDee was devoted to her faith, family and friends.  I enjoyed hearing stories or sayings about her parents, brothers Johnny and Jim, children Todd and Bethany and her beloved cats Toby and Emma who were like children to her.  

May you rest in peace, DeeDee, and May you know the joy of everlasting life in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I met Deedee the first meeting I went to : Sunday Brunch, that is still my home group today. I became a part of a phenomenal group of sober women, of which Deedee belonged. We call ourselves : The Posse. We still support one another and meet outside meetings to get  together, eat, talk, laugh, cry, etc. Deedee is already missed by us all. 
I shared the same sobriety birthday , as Deedee; February 1st.  Deedee had 1 more year of sobriety than I, and she started a tradition of picking up her new coin, and passing her former coin to me. She was so thoughtful, and I loved  this tradition.  
At the memorial service , I plan to pass along my 14 yr coin plus my 1 year coin = 15 yrs to give back to her. She was so classy, witty, funny., and thoughtful. I know she’s at peace with our Heavenly Father. Rest in peace 🙏☮️🕊️😇💕😘🙏

Many memories of 20+ years as neighbors with Neumann’s in Avon Lake.  DeeDee was the perfect hostess at a dinner gathering at her house.  We spent many a weekend evening playing hearts in the kitchen. Good times with good friends. Condolences Todd and Bethany.

A friend of mine and dear friend of Deedee sent me this I thought that I would share:

She threw a party with a popcorn machine. I begged my parents not to throw me any party for my high school graduation. I didn't want to face the fact that no one would come. But I have a distinct memory of going to Todd's house. The house was abuzz, the center of attention, Deedee. Ensuring everyone had something good to eat, that everyone was introduced. "This is Todd's friend, xxx!” she said. So many great times in that kitchen, before and after the green apple wallpaper.

She could get mad. Who would blame her? While she worked, her son and his friend were up to no good. We sprayed oven cleaner into aluminum foil and then balled it up. Todd doubted me, that anything would happen. So we left the ball of foil in the garage, right in front of the family's stash of Diet Cokes. When she got home from work in her Quest minivan, we could hear her shrieking from the garage. "Todd! Todd!" The garage was filled with smoke, and a big, metallic stain left on the cement. She didn't care that it was something I'd seen on TV, she was ready to ring our necks.  But she forgave us.

Thanksgiving Chats: I never knew who instigated the phone call to get me to come over after a turkey dinner. But when I'd arrive, in the warm home, the table already cleared, a fire sometimes roaring, and all the guests assembled, it was Deedee poking and stoking the fire within me. “xxx!” she'd nearly cry. "Tell them about..." and I'd know exactly which story she'd want me to tell. It usually involved a toilet, a near-accident, or something so embarrassing no one could hold back from laughing at the absurdity. The smile she'd wear after laughing was enduring.

She was always so giving...  Bringing me a small gift or
something she baked... I am so sorry her illness took over
and took her from us...  May she Rest In Peace....

Deedee was a great lady and a great friend.  We have been friends since we started together at Northwest Airlines over 56 years ago.  She was the best story teller and had many funny stories to tell.  Her family was the most important thing to her. I am so saddened that I will never see her again or hear another story or have a heart-to-heart talk.  She will always be in my heart. Rest in peace dear friend.

Dear Todd and Bethany,
My heart is sad to hear of the passing of your very sweet mom. I have know Deedee  for over 40+ years as her hair stylist . We have shared many chapters of life together in those years.
She had a beautiful sense of style and was always classic with her style. 
Your Mom was one of the nice ladies i had the pleasure of knowing.
 She  loved you both dearly and always spoke so highly and proudly of you both.  
I hope that the love you shared together and carry in your hearts will comfort and carry you as you navigate in the days ahead.

This is Todd Neumann, mom's son.  Thank you all for the kind words.  I am in process of finding a place for her two cats.  I know it was the most important thing that she was worried about and I am not sure they could handle a cross country drive to Arizona.  If you could spread the word.  They are both sweet.  Toby is large and shy and ~10 years old.  Molly is small VERY friendly and ~ 5 years old. Dear Deedee,

For 50 years I have been a part of your journey, never foreseeing this abrupt end. What a long adventure you have had, and may you now know eternal peace.

The look of your quick, bright smile along with the delectable memory of your amazing Christmas cookies and the depth of your giving spirit will remain with me always.
