Mark was kind, friendly and helpful. His life was highlighted by a trip to Europe and the years he shared with his girlfriend, Shirley Kopasek. He held many different jobs, but his favorite was delivering pizza for many years for Pizza Hut; he took pride in wearing his hard earned, genuine leather Pizza Hut bomber jacket! His most important work came later in life when he was the essential caregiver of his father, Jack Ehrbar, enabling Jack to remain in his home in Rocky River until his death in April of 2018. The family will be forever grateful for the care, love and friendship Mark gave his dad. He was, among other things: cook, crooner of various melodies, fellow game show watcher and the person who rooted – or not! – for Cleveland’s various sports teams with his father. These memories will be cherished, warming hearts in the days to come.
Mark will leave a genuine void in the lives of his sisters, Corinne Jalkanen (Chris) and Mary Lynne Safko (husband, Mike, deceased). He will be missed as the uncle of Shane Beers (Nicole Wilhelms), Travis Beers, Orin Safko (Ariel), Dayna, Natalie and Aimee (Mike Caballero) Jalkanen. He also leaves behind his three best friends, Paul Piazza, George Mass and his uncle, William “Bill” Ehrbar. The family is thankful for the love, support and enjoyable times they gave Mark over the years.
There are other friends and family members not mentioned here who also deeply cared for Mark; they are appreciated. Mark will be missed by all who knew him.
