He was born in Wadsworth, the son of the late James and Maureen (nee Stribbling) Witschey. Michael was the beloved husband of the late Patsy (nee Hord), who predeceased him in 2022; loving father of Joey (Corinne); cherished grandfather of Aiden Witschey; dear brother of Teresa, Patrick, Christine, Maureen, Gregory, Daniel and the late Mary, James Jr., Gerard, Mark, Kathleen, Elizabeth, Margaret, Paul and David; adored uncle of many.
Sgt. Witschey proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he worked as a mechanic — a role that perfectly matched his brilliant mind and steady hands. He had a gift for understanding how things worked, and a heart that drove him to help everyone around him. When challenges arose, he never hesitated to step up, take charge, and see things through. That was who he was — someone you could always count on.
A graveside service with US Air Force Honors will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 10:15AM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery,10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, Ohio 44273. Please meet at the cemetery before 10AM.
