Stephen P. Blackburn

Stephen Paul Blackburn passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the age of 65. Loving son of Paul E. and Maggie C. (nee Noland) Blackburn. Dear father of Paul B. Brother to Rebecca S. (Michael (dc))Christie, Tim (Carol) Blackburn, Mark A. Blackburn and Philip (Niphapon) Blackburn. He loved his Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Nephews. Stephen was born in Columbus, OH in 1954 and graduated from Brookside High School, Sheffield, OH. He also attended Ohio State University before enlisting in the Army. Recently retired from Alman Electric as a Project Manager in Dallas, Texas. He lived most of his life in the Dallas Texas area raising his son Paul. Most Recently Plano, Texas. He leaves behind many great friends in Texas, Ohio and other areas. Riding his Harley Davidson Motor Cycle with his friends and fellow veterans was his favorite pastime. Stephen returned to Ohio in his final months to receive care he needed from his family.

Stephen was a very proud Vietnam Era Veteran who supported Veteran's activities. Amongst a few was VFW Post 4380 and American Legion Post 321, Plano TX. Also supporting the CVMA TX 23-1. He served as Signal Intelligence Analyst at the US Army Security Agency, Field Station Berlin, Germany earning the rank of Sergeant. Also receiving The Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Occupational Medal, Expert Badge with Grenade Bar, Sharpshooter Badge with Auto Rifle Bar and National Defense Service Medal.

Memorial Services will be held at The Chapel Ted Dickey East at a later date and time. Inurnment will take place at Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
