Born on February 5, 1958, in Akron, he was the preceded in death by his parents, Michael Mitchin and Martha (Tominack) Wilson.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of nearly 42 years, Cassandra (Prochnow), two children, Sarah (John Argenzia) and Joseph (Amy Wyatt), and two grandchildren, Benjamin and Eleanor.
Growing up one of eight children, his memory also will be honored by brothers Larry, Bob, Bill, Tom and David, and sisters, Susie, and Nancy.
He was honorably discharged as a Petty Officer Third Class of the United States Navy, having served aboard the USS Guam (LPH-9), stationed out of Norfolk, Virginia.
He was married on April 28, 1984, in Kent, after meeting his bride while working for the Kent State University Campus Bus Service. Over the years, the couple lived in Goodyear Heights, Jackson Township, North Topsail Island, North Carolina, and most recently Amherst.
A graduate of Malone University, he retired from Becton Dickinson (BD) on October 31, 2024.
A gentle and loving man, he was a loyal friend, husband and father and known for his tremendous sense of humor. A lover of cars and motorcycles, his pride and joy was his 2006 Victory Red Corvette. He also worked tirelessly to completely restore his 1981 Black Corvette Stingray.
Funeral services will be held at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home (23040 Center Ridge Rd., Westlake) on Friday, February 6. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with the service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery (10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville).
Additionally, a post-funeral luncheon/gathering will be held at Papa Joe’s Iacomini's Restaurant (1561 Akron Peninsula Rd.) from 2-4 p.m.
