

Douglas Arthur Humphreys nicknamed Doug or to some, Dougie of Westlake Village, California passed away on June 20, 2023 at the age of 89. He was born on November 2,1933 in Bell Gardens, California. He lived in South Gate, California with his parents, William and Dorothy Humphreys for 22 years.
He graduated from South Gate High School on June 15, 1951. After graduating, he worked at a metal shop named Custom Craft. He joined the Air Force Reserves in 1951 and was drafted by the Army in July 1953, during the Korean War. After Doug served his country, he would return to work at a metal shop. He met Diane Kasser, a mother of 3, and they married on November 1, 1957. Doug and Diane would go on to have a son of their own named Scott Arthur Humphreys. They moved to Torrance, California where Doug would then create his company named Metalcrafters. He was extremely dedicated and hardworking, which resulted in his company becoming a great success. In 1979, Doug married his second wife Lora Lynn Kemsley. They would have a long, happy marriage until death. He is preceded in death by his wife Lora Lynn Humphreys (9/5/2022), his father William Arthur Humphreys (8/20/1987), and his mother Dorothy Mae Humphreys (8/1987). He is survived by his son Scott Arthur Humphreys and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Doug and Lora loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. Doug loved to sail, go fishing, and hunting. No words are enough to describe Doug- a humble man with great integrity, a wonderful father, grandfather, husband, friend, and businessman. He will be greatly missed.
