Elizabeth Morris (who also answered to Jean, Betty, and Grams - but not Grandma) of Panorama City passed away on Monday June 12, 2023 at the age of 73 surrounded by family after her short battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on December 12, 1949 in Woodland, California, but spent most of her life in Southern California.
She was hard working, helpful, and always willing to lend a hand. She was a nurse for many years, and spent many more on a catering truck working long hard hours.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents James and Allice, her brothers, Jack and Virgil, and her sisters, Pat and Brenda. She is survived by her partner Brian, her brother Marvin, her sister Quna, friend and supporter for most of her years and the father of her children Darrell, her two loving daughters Beverly and Renee, grandchildren Tina, Daniel, Paige, and Kennedy, great grandchild Rolland, cousin Cella and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She loved her family, animals, dolls, dirty jokes, a clean kitchen, ketchup, and the simple pleasures like getting her hair brushed and nails done. She liked to get dirty playing in the garden and had a green thumb. She surrounded herself with pictures of loved ones throughout her home, and cherished all the handmade gifts presented to her over the years. She was an advocate for animals, children, and her community, and believed that people needed to take care of each other, and help out those who did not have enough to take care of themselves.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Renee’s home at 1454 Calle Alamo, Thousand Oaks, CA on Sunday July 16, 2023 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Jean’s honor to your local animal shelter or veteran organization.
