Georgette Bremer

Georgette Bremer, 95 years old, passed away in Austin TX on July 28, 2024. Born in France, she emigrated to the U.S. as a child; with her family, she settled initially in New Jersey, then Ohio. She and her husband George, an aerospace engineer, moved to Thousand Oaks in 1978, and remained there until 2022. Georgette enjoyed a long career as a newspaper reporter, including with the Acorn. She had three children, Louis (Grafton Ohio), Joseph (deceased) and Jacqueline Bremer Miller (Austin Texas). She had 5 brothers who remained in Ohio: Harry, Paul, Raymond who preceded her in death; Pierre and Rene. Also preceding her in death was her husband, George Bremer (1986), and her son, Joseph Bremer (2023). The funeral service will be at St Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10am. She will be interred at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks in Westlake Village. Services will also include her son, Joseph Bremer.

Joseph Bremer passed away on April 10, 2023. Born in Indiana, he grew up in Ohio, and came to live in Thousand Oaks with family in 1979. He worked as an avionics technician. He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Zartman (Bremer) of Westfield Center Ohio, brother Louis Bremer of Grafton, Ohio and sister Jacqueline Bremer Miller of Austin, Texas. The funeral service will be at St.Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10am. He will be interred at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks in Westlake Village with his mother, Georgette Bremer.
