Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Ora and Edith Cline and his son, Peter Cline.
He was loved by so many including his family and friends from near and far. Many of his close friends were made through his decades of work in the Health and Pension benefits consulting and administration field, and on the golf course. In addition to his regular Thursday and Sunday golf games, Glen enjoyed traveling, cruising, being on his boat and spending time with family and friends.
Glen grew up in Morehead, Kentucky where he attended grade school, high school and Morehead University. After graduating with a degree in math and physics, he taught high school math in nearby Ohio. He joined the US Navy in 1971 and was accepted into Officer Candidate School becoming a commissioned officer during the Vietnam war. He served as an anti-nuclear submarine officer on the USS Epperson.
After his time in the US Navy, he went on to earn his Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. He met his (now former) wife, Sheila Channing while in Hawaii where they had their children Peter and Stephanie. Glen’s job brought them to Southern California where they settled in Agoura Hills. He later moved to Arcadia where he lived for many years until he retired from the Ironworkers Employee Benefits Corporation and moved to Lake Arrowhead.
Glen is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Lorntzen, son-in-law, Robert Lorntzen, and grandchildren, Blake, Carter and Lexi of Thousand Oaks, his partner of many years, Gloria Corral of Walnut and his brother, Roy Cline, sister-in-law, Donna and nephews Barry, Brian and Brett.
The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Glen Cline will be held on May 2nd at 2:00pm at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park, Westlake Village. A family visitation will be held at 3:30pm at Sunset Hills Country Club, Thousand Oaks.
