We were shocked and saddened to hear of Kaushik’s passing. Kaushik, Gaurang, Anirudhh, and I grew up together in Bombay.

I have many fond memories of Kaushik, and I will recount one here. It was Ashini’s wedding reception, and the festivities were winding down. Gita and I caught up with Kaushik to say goodbye. He suddenly asked me if I had the gharis. He said they had been specially brought in for the wedding from Surat. I said no, and he replied, “You’ve got to have them.” He ran out and came back with two gharis wrapped in the original wax paper. Quintessential Kaushik — a loving and generous soul.

We lived on two different coasts, but we kept in touch through periodic phone calls — which he initiated more often than not — and occasional visits. Kaushik, we will miss you.

Dear Vandana, Hemal and Aashini,
We mourn the passing of our dear family friend Kaushik of 55 years, a bond that began when we spent two unforgettable years together in Oklahoma City as MBA classmates and roommates. Those early days forged a friendship that only deepened with time. Though life took us to different cities, our connection remained strong as we raised our families, watched our children grow into successful adults, and were both blessed with the joy of grandchildren.

He was more than a friend—he was family. His warmth, wisdom, and steadfast presence enriched our lives in countless ways. He will be missed dearly, and the absence he leaves is deeply felt. 

Our hearts go out to to you, your  children, and grandchildren. We share in their sorrow and offer our deepest condolences, prayers, and support during this difficult time. So sorry for a loss of a wonderful  friend and a person. Kaushik was a part and a big support of the Thousand Oaks community and IFA. He will be missed greatly. 
He lived a beautiful full life and was blessed to have an amazing wife, 2 beautiful children and grandkids .

Kaushik bhai was the most loving, kind and gentle person. He always asked how “I” was doing and was always most helpful when I worked with him at Days Inn. He really cared and was always kind. More than a friend, I loved him like family. God bless.
