

Martin L. Poling, better known as Marty, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 10, 1939, Marty lived a life full of love, laughter, adventure, and devotion to those closest to him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, DeAnne Poling Coffee; his parents, Marjorie and Leonard Poling; his sister, Margie Carnahan; and his brother, Carl Poling.
Marty is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Arlene Poling, and his three sons and their families: Daniel (Colleen), Bo (Jody), and Douglas. He cherished his nine grandchildren—Chad (Kristen), Cami (Austin), Marissa (Adam), Landon (Alix), Kylee (Kyle), Cassidy (Andrew), Logan (Joya), Brooklyn, and DeLaney—and his seventeen and a half great-grandchildren: Cannon, Kaisley, Harlow, Zoey, Lainey, Everlee, Adalynn, Troy, Lyla, Charlotte, Dalton, Naima, Aili, Dakota, Helia, Brynley, Aspen, and the eighteenth arriving in May 2026.
Marty and Arlene blessed their family by being an example of unconditional love over a period of 66 years as of November 28, 2025. After retiring at 52, Marty was a ski host in Mammoth for 22 years and was an avid snow skier. He and Arlene were blessed to travel extensively across the United States, Europe, and Hawaii, creating a lifestyle filled with adventure and cherished memories. Above all, Marty loved spending time with his family. He worked tirelessly to bless every member of his family with his time, talents, and unwavering love.
Marty was deeply connected to his community, with lifelong friends in Southern California, many ski friends in Mammoth, and his church family at Godspeak Calvary Chapel where he found a spiritual home and fellowship.
Marty lived big, loved big, and gave big. Renowned as a master storyteller, he could always captivate an audience, whether recounting family tales or sharing the adventures of his life. Those who knew him best could count on his helping hand, his listening ear, and his warm, generous heart.
Marty’s legacy will forever live on through his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and devotion.
