Mary Dragotto, a 25 year resident of Thousand Oaks, was born on September 3, 1925 in Detroit Michigan and passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 90 on January 29, 2016. She was the daughter of Sicilian immigrants, Philip and Grace Gioia. In the early 1930’s, Mary’s family moved to Hawthorne California. Mary met her husband, Giacomo (Jack) Dragotto, in the mid 1930’s and was married to Jack for 67 years. Mary and Jack moved to Thousand Oaks in 1990 and were members of St. Paschal’s church and the Italian Catholic Federation. Mary was a loving and selfless wife and stay-at-home mother.
She was preceded in death by her son Philip, grandson Michael, brothers Thomas, Jasper, and Michael. Mary is survived by her husband, Jack, her sons Thomas (Marie), and Michael, her grandchildren Melissa, Andrew, Philip, and Andrea. She will always be remembered for her devotion to her family and her great cooking.
Services for Mary will be held at St Paschal’s church – Rosary on Wednesday evening, February 3rd from 7-9pm and a Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 4th at 10:30am – internment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City on Saturday February 6th at 12noon.
