

He was born to Denton and Lydia Fisher on March 27, 1936, in Hershey, Nebraska. He was born number 8 out of 10 children.
Ray joined the U. S. Air Force after high school. He served 4 years as an Air Force Police Officer. On one occasion, he even guarded Elvis Presley.
After discharge from the Air Force, Ray met Claudia Jackson. They dated for 3 years. After dating for 3 years, he purchased a home in N. Hollywood, started his own business, married the love and companion of his life Claudia, and had their first child, Audrey, all within one year. Audrey was born on their first wedding anniversary. Nine years after Audrey was born, Ray and Claudia’s twin boys, Darren and Darby were born. Audrey, being the oldest child spent many hours helping her parents care for her brothers. This was a blessing to Ray and Claudia.
The Fishers moved to Thousand Oaks in 1984.
Ray was a Boy Scout leader, and enjoyed many family outings with the Scouts.
Ray also enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and frogging with extended family and friends. Ray owned a fishing boat where he enjoyed to go to the Channel Islands and go deep sea fishing.
Ray owned RC Fisher Pool Service for 50 years, and retired in 2010. He was a member and very involved with the Independent Pool Service Association.
Ray is survived by his wife Claudia of 56 years; his daughter Audrey Penczar and husband Robert (Thousand Oaks); grandson Jason Fisher (Thousand Oaks); son Darren Fisher and wife Wendy and grandson Randy (Oregon); and son Darby Fisher (Oregon). He is also survived by his sisters Virginia Younghans (N. Platte, Nebraska), Nina Lowe (Redding, California), brother Rodney Fisher and wife Jeanie (N. Platte, Nebraska), brother-in-law Wayne Jackson and wife Karen (Moorpark, California); and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Denton & Lydia Fisher, brothers Claude Shepherd, Herbert Fisher, Robert Fisher, Howard Fisher, Danny Fisher, and sister Edith Holz.
Services will be held Thursday, May 11, at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks in Westlake Village, Ca. Viewing will be at 9:00 am, followed by the funeral services at 10:00. Burial, with military honors will follow the services, at Valley Oaks Memorial Park in the Garden of Peace.
