Raymond Gerard O’Reilly - a 50 year resident of Thousand Oaks, died suddenly on December 10, 2015. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife and eldest child Ray Jr. and is survived by his children, Donna O'Reilly, Gregory O'Reilly, Candice O'Reilly, Chantal Holmes, Gregory's wife Kristy and Chantal's husband, Paul, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and his sister Marie from Chicago.
Born in Dublin, Ireland February 16, 1933 to Mary and Matthew O’Reilly, Raymond was the 2nd of 5 children. After leaving Ireland he moved to England and then Canada till he was able to immigrate into the US where he made Chicago his home. In 1955 after a short 6 week courtship Raymond married Barbara his beautiful and loving wife. Inducted into the US Army Raymond was immediately sent to Germany with his new bride. They returned to Chicago where they started their great big, loud and beautiful family. Their love was as strong in the end as it was in the beginning. Raymond shared 60 years of marriage with Barbara and is now in heaven with her.
Growing up in Ireland he learned the gift of the gab and with an Irish brogue he told his stories as he traveled throughout this beautiful world. He gave love and shared his home with anyone who needed a place to rest or a stomach to fill. His love and generosity were felt not only within the walls of his home but for thousands of miles beyond.
He was dearly loved as a husband and father, respected and loved by his friends. His smiling Irish eyes will be missed by many but his love will be remembered by all!
Gone, but not forgotten! We love you Dad….Forever
