

Dr. Robert E. Lee (Ph.D) of Thousand Oaks, CA passed away on Wednesday November 26, 2025 at the age of 83. Robert, known as Bob, was born on September 2, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Son of Nellie and Harry Lee. In his youth, he enjoyed spending time at the Hogle Zoo with his uncle Joseph Sloan who cared for Shasta the first Liger born in the U.S.
He attended college at the University of California at Berkeley and graduated in 1970. He received his B.S.E.E. (with highest honors), M.S.E.E. and Ph. D in electrical engineering and computer science. He carried the love of learning with him throughout his life.
After graduating from school, Bob got his first job in Silicon Valley at Hewlett Packard Labs making Gallium Arsenide integrated circuits. His skills were noticed and he was recruited by Rockwell International Science Center where he met Lily. He excelled in the semiconductor industry for 45+ years and has four U.S. patents and one Japanese patent. During his professional career he also worked for Hughes Space and Communications and Skyworks. Bob started his own consulting company, Linear Monolithics, who won contracts from leading electronics companies like Lockheed, Aerojet Corp, the U.S. Army and NASA. Bob also started a successful company named StarComm. He authored over 60 technical papers, co-authored two technical books, and performed many presentations during his incredible career.
In his personal life, after moving back to California, he and Lily married in 1981, and they later welcomed his precious twin baby girls Stephanie and Christina. Throughout his life, Bob loved to travel often, and he was an incredible itinerary planner.
He came to Christ and was baptized at Godspeak Calvary Chapel. His heart was in teaching, and he went on to teach Biblical Creation Science at Godspeak Calvary Chapel and Camarillo Community Church. He also taught science and math at Newbury Park High School and Living Oaks Middle School.
He is preceded in death by Nellie Lee, Harry Lee, Joseph Sloan and his close friend Marty Richter.
He is survived by (2) children Stephanie and Christina Lee.
Bob was a loving father and friend. He was a warm and gentle soul and his kindness measured up to his tall height of 6 foot 7 inches. He had a cheerful laugh and everyone who met him was moved by his sweetness and generosity. He had a special ability to make people feel at ease and happy in his welcoming presence and he radiated a loving warmth. Bob was a brilliant thinker and shared his gifts and knowledge as much as he could. He is and was always such a blessing to those close to him and we will always remember and cherish him. Bob will always be remembered for his kind heart and his life philosophy to love and be kind to everyone.
