Ronald W. Browne, a native Californian, born July 6, 1927 passed away at his home in Thousand Oaks, Monday March 7, 2011. A prolific Director of Photography, his career spanned almost six decades. Born and raised in Westwood, he followed his father into the movie industry and worked with several of the greats from the past and many from the current generation.
Some of Ron's fondest memories were working with Barbara Stanwyck for years on The Big Valley, and the cast and crew from the original Mission Impossible TV series. He also worked with stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift and Mary Tyler Moore all the way through to filming current talents such as John Lithgow, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and Sandra Bullock. Some of his other exceptional credits included: The Rifleman, The Young Lions, McCloud, The Six Million Dollar Man, Vegas, Three Amigos, Coach, Third Rock From the Sun and That 70's Show.
"Ronnie", as his friends and family knew him, was a dynamic, creative, vibrant authentic, and loving man with a tremendous sense of humor. He was also well-known for saving the lives of wild birds and animals since he was a young child. Any seed, plant or tree he touched grew and thrived with grace and beauty.
Ronald is survived by John and Klara Anderson, and his sister, Marilynn Marano and husband Frank and Ron's nieces and nephews - Frank and Mary, Gayle and Sherwood, Marilyn, Ann Marie, John, Teri and Terry and Norma and Ralph.
