Our dear beloved mother, Vena Elizabeth Charles, was born on March 12, 1946 in St. Joseph, Trinidad to Gilbert “Gil” Charles and Mariam Rita “Girly” de Freitas. Vena was a kind, loving, caring, God-fearing/ spiritual woman who will always be remembered for showing love and affection to her family, friends, and everyone who came in contact with her. Despite her small frame, she gave some of the most powerful heartfelt prayers for any and all that were in need. She was bar none the strongest woman we have ever known facing all challenges head on without any fears. In addition, she was very proud of her Trinidadian roots and was overjoyed when she crossed paths with another Trinidadian often befriending them forever. Lastly, Vena was a very happy person with a contagious smile that would have you laughing for days; some would say she was the life of the party, getting her wine in whenever she could.
Vena passed away at the age of 75 on Tuesday, June 8th in West Hills, California with all three of her adult children by her side; Jeffrey, Jason & Jessica. She will definitely be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her and knowing the wonderful, caring, loving woman we called Mommie.
