She was born on September 3, 1931, in Korea and came to the United States in 1954 on a student visa. She graduated from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois, in June 1958 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry. She went on to build a career as a chemist, working for pharmaceutical and scientific testing companies.
She was a devoted member of Monte Vista Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and found great meaning and peace in her faith and church community.
Yun-Ok is now reunited with her beloved husband, Dae-Sook Suh, who preceded her in death after a romance that spanned 71 years.
She is lovingly remembered by her two sons: Maurice (wife Julie and children Daphne, Kate, and Charlotte) and Kevin (wife Ann and children Tyler, Gwendolyn, and Alexandra).
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park, Mortuary & Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Network at Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks, California.
