Born in Santa Clara, Cuba, on June 22, 1938, to María Dolores Pérez Díaz and José María Germán Ortega, Aracely lived a remarkable life filled with resilience, wisdom, and love. She was the devoted wife of her late beloved husband Isnoel E. Abreu and cherished mother to Isnoel J. Abreu, Ignacio G. Abreu, and María C. Abreu Goris. She also held a special bond with her nephew, Ismel whom she loved as though he were another son.
Aracely was trained as a classical pianist, a passion she carried throughout her life. She graduated from La Escuela Normal de Maestros in Las Villas, Cuba, and later earned two master’s degrees in education from Montclair State College and Mercy College. In August 1971, she immigrated to the United States with her husband Isnoel, their three children, and her parents, beginning a new chapter while helping many others build their start in this country.
Family was Aracely’s greatest joy. She was a devoted grandmother to Melissa (married to Rikhil), Alex (married to Laura), Joshua (married to Emily), and José Armando, and a loving great-grandmother to Mia, Rian, and Amelia. She also had a deep love for animals, always caring for them with the same gentleness and warmth she extended to the people around her.
Aracely was a guiding light for countless people. Her legacy is one of strength, generosity, and unwavering care. She was a dedicated daughter, loving wife, extraordinary mother, supportive mother-in-law, nurturing grandmother, proud great-grandmother, and a true friend to all creatures great and small. Her family was her heart, and her love will live on through them.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her spirit, lessons, and music will remain eternal.
A visitation for Aracely will be held Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ 07675.
