Lenny and I would go gaps in time when we didn't see each other over the years but we always managed to stay in touch. And when we did get together it seemed like only yesterday. We have few if any mutual friends it was never like that but we did have many misadventures over the decades we knew each other. Some used to think we were twins or brothers but that might have been the beer goggles or the twilight hours. I introduced Len to skiing at a New Jersey ski area and he was a natural athlete never quit until he masted it in one day. We went out to more than a few bars in NYC favorite meeting place and hangout was Live Bait which is still same place so whenever I walk by brings back memories. The Jersey Shore was frequented in the summers when we brought a blue fish home we bought off the boats and cooked it at 3am. We had a small eccentric rat pack so to speak all went on a wild long vacation weekend in Wildwood when we had a little bit too much fun and got thrown out of the hotel. Our trip to Seattle and hiking Mt Rainier was legendary. We didn't have a hotel so I suggested a youth hostel and I quote Lenny but were not youths so funny but we stayed anyway. Those koyster shooters.  I visited him in a Boston when he worked up there, which he did not like. And used to spend weekend driving (slow slow on weekends) over the GW bridge when he lived in Larchmont Westchester. The cigar humidor he displayed in his living room , I drove him from his then apartment in NYC all the way to a big tobacco cigar seller in New Jersey helped him pick it out. Modern life has a way of people separating and going their own way especially as you get older. I moved away for work for years then moved back then moved again to Europe. But we always managed to stay in touch. Technology helped with texting and email and the occasional get together. Lenny was devastated by the passing of his childhood friend Brian. Little did we know the future. Last time I met him in NYC he looked fine. But He stopped texting.  One of a kind - a true natures noblemen ! RIP

David was always Lenny it reflected his friendly easy going personality. He was always open to new friendships without hesitation, often befriending many less popular with kindness.  Its easier to accept ones own mortality but harder to experience it in a friend, and Lenny will be missed.  He had a unique sense of humor that created experiences that could be reminisced with the same great levity as if it were the first time.  He was an acrobatic  athlete that would skillfully decend balconies at defying heights. He was a great conversationalist and comrade in arms with his, as he called totally kool chum he called TK.  Lenny enjoyed meeting people and always was good company, enjoyed exploring the city for friendly gatherings from the local pub to an eclectic dive bar to unique sights and experiences.  He traveled the world with great zeal, and shared his experiences with his friends.  He often said, he lived a good life, and with that keepsake he will be remembered by those whos good fortune of fate to have crossed his path and even better to shared-in his bold and bright lifes special journey. 

Lenny lived life to the fullest for sure and over the decades we would get together from time to time. I worked overseas for many years and Lenny came to visit me at my apartment in Cairo. The stories to tell. Last time I met Him was in NYC all seemed well but the last few years mostly thru texting and email. I have lots of good memories and interesting photos. We had common interests and exchange our travel stories and libation sensation those standards of mine of course an SD fan. I hope someone sets up a website or Facebook memorial where I can post them. Gone too soon my friend RIP

David's old time friends always called him Lenny that's what he liked! An amazing guy. Absolutely one of a kind. RIP

David "Lenny" Lenicek and I lived together the last two years while attending Rutgers College as undergraduates. After that, Lenny and I would socialize on occasion and shared the best of times - especially when traveling, which we loved to do together.

Thank you for so many great, fun memories.

 I cannot believe I am saying goodbye to David so soon in this life. 

Peace be with you David, and I will always remember you with great fondness.

I met Dave through our mutual friend John.  Fortunately, I was able to meet him a couple of times and spent one wonderful dinner with him.  A true "Dan" man, RIP my friend.  May you find your Bodhisattva.  Steve O

Dave was a good guy. A brother from another mother. We worked together a few times and got to know each well over the years. We went to a few concerts together. He always had great stories about his travels as well as his passion for sports especially the Rangers, Giants, and the Yankees. He was always compassionate about the issues I had going on in my life. Brought tears to my eyes learning of his passing. He was a good soul. I will miss Dave surely but I will never forget him. Dave, may you travel the Heavens now. I bid you goodnight.

"I MET DAVE IN SPRING 1994, WHEN MY GIRLFRIEND AND I DECIDED TO CATCH A HOCKEY GAME AT A LOCAL RESTAURANT IN LARCHMONT.  THIS STUNNINGLY HANDSOME BLONDE MAN CAUGHT MY EYE, AND I COULD NOT LEAVE UNTIL I GOT UP THE NERVE TO SPEAK WITH HIM.  DAVE WAS WITH HIS BEST FRIEND JOHNNY.  DAVE AND I DATED FOR A WHILE, AND THEN BECAME VERY CLOSE FRIENDS.  

WHEN HE MOVED TO THE CITY I WOULD VISIT FOR WEEKENDS AND VICE VERSA.  WE WERE FELLOW SAGITTARIANS AND SPOKE WEEKLY ON THE PHONE.  WE WOULD TALK ABOUT EVERYTHING.  HE WAS VERY PROUD OF HIS NIECE AND NEPHEWS, AND LOVED HIS FAMILY DEEPLY.

WE'D SOMETIMES SPEND A FRIDAY NIGHT GETTING PIZZA AND DISCUSSING THE MANY PICTURES HE HAD ON HIS WALL OF HIS TRAVELS

I FELL FOR HIM ALL OVER AGAIN.  HOW COULD YOU NOT? HE WAS A TRUE RENAISSANCE MAN; BRILLIANT, HANDSOME, WELL-TRAVELED, KIND, FUNNY, GOOD-HEARTED, AND A TRUE GENTLEMAN.

David and I were best of friends in grammar school and high school.  I remember having sleep overs in the "barn" which was stop his garage.  We met for dinner a few years ago and spoke about "old times", family and our travels around the world.  He had me beat with exotic locations I never even heard of.  We laughed all night sipping wine and enjoying our talks.  Every year I remember on December 2 my good friends birthday which I texted him on but never heard back.  Hearing the news of his passing shocked and saddened me.  I will miss you Dave!

My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Lenny was a great friend to my husband, Brian and now they are together. May he rest in eternal peace. With love and support.
