Diane Valla

Diane Valla, 73, of Park Ridge NJ passed away peacefully on March 20th, 2026. Diane was born in Jersey City, NJ on October 17, 1952. Diane is predeceased by her parents Helen and Stanley Szpila and her brother, Ronald Szpila which all resided in Rochelle Park NJ. Diane will be greatly missed by her husband, John E. Valla Jr. and daughter, Allison Paige Valla.

Diane and her family moved to Rochelle Park where she completed grammar school. Diane graduated from Hackensack High School in 1970. While in high school, she was employed at Drescher Brother's Office Furniture in Hackensack, where she worked till the early eighties. From there, Diane was employed for 34 years at Quackenbush Lumber Company in Park Ridge till the company ceased operations. Diane and John lived in Park Ridge for 47 years and enjoyed living along Mill Pond.

Diane was a bubbly and good-hearted person. She enjoyed walking her past and present dogs, Sandy, Maggie and Daisy along Mill Pond and visiting her neighbors while doing so. Diane also loved spending weekends at the family shore house in Barnegat NJ, where she went Boating, Fishing, and Swimming. Diane loved to fluke fish with Allison, John and family and by the way she was really good at it! Diane loved and was extremely proud of her daughter, Allison. Diane and Allison would do a lot of day trips and simple things like getting ice cream, walk the dog, and go shopping.

The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood NJ on March 25 between 4:00pm-8:00pm. The funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Church Roman Catholic Church, Park Ridge NJ at 10:00am on March 26. Interment to follow Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
