Dorothy A. Donovan (Dot), 90, of River Vale, died peacefully on Sunday, July 29, 2018. Formerly of the Bronx, Dot called New Jersey her home for the past 40 years. Dot’s entire career was spent at Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., with her last years as a personal life underwriter. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Victories Roman Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Social Concerns Committee. Beloved friend of Terry Burns, Dot was a proud aunt to many nieces and nephews: Catherine McNally, Annemarie Lynch, Brian McNally, James Browne, Richard Browne, Kathleen Huggins, Kevin Browne, Michael Noonan, John Noonan, Maureen St. John, James Noonan, Dorothy Mullane, Margaret Schultz, Patricia Malinowski, Timothy Donovan, John Donovan, and Michael Donovan. She was also a dear aunt to many great nieces and nephews. Dot was devoted to her large family and loved spending time with them. Dot is predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Jeremiah Donovan; sisters Ann McNally, Catherine Browne, and Marge Noonan; brother Timothy Donovan; and nephew Gerry Browne. Family will receive friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Thursday, August 2, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass celebrating Dot’s life and faith will be on Friday, August 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victories Roman Catholic Church in Harrington Park, NJ, preceded by visitation at 9:30 a.m. at the Becker Funeral Home.
