Escolastica “Esty” Parlanti (nee Pascual), 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2020. Esty was born in Navotas in the Philippines and immigrated to New York City in 1969. While working together as civil engineers she met and married Gino Parlanti Jr. They moved to Westwood in 1974 and were married for 47 years.Esty was a pioneer for women in the field of engineering.In 1989 she founded MEGA Engineering (named for Melissa, Esty, Gino, Alicia) and ran the company as President for 30 years with colleagues who became like family to her.She loved socializing with friends and taking care of her beloved grandsons. Esty is survived by her loving husband Gino, her daughter Alicia Madison, husband Rusty and their sons Jack, Charles and Tyler, her daughter Melissa Klein, husband Ben and their son Miles, her loving sister Pat Pascual and many nieces and nephews in Australia. She was predeceased by her sister Sonia Napiza. The family will receive their relatives and friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am at R.C. Church of the Assumption, Emerson, followed by an entombment in Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. Esty was a 25-year breast cancer survivor and recently bravely fought lung cancer, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center,http://mskcc.convio.net/goto/EstyParlanti
