Florinda Petillo

Florinda "Flo" (nee Mauro), 82, of Toms River, New Jersey, formally of Bergenfield, NJ passed away surrounded by her family at home on Monday, July 16, 2012. Flo was the beloved wife of Edward for 61 years, devoted mother of Edward Petillo Jr. and his wife Mary of Harrington Park, Karen Larned and her husband Rich of Ogdensburg and Cheryl Jacobi and her husband Joe of Red Hook, NY. Loving grandmother of Jennifer (Larned) Edwards, Michael Larned, Lauren Jacobi, Matthew Petillo, Kelly Jacobi, Michelle Petillo and Steven Petillo. Dear sister of Joseph Mauro of Fairview, Alexander Mauro of Fort Lee and Estelle DeRiso of Ohio. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father Felix Mauro; mother Teresa (Oriento) Mauro, sisters Madeline Mauro, Ann Giammetta and Josephine DiMauro. Flo was an avid traveler whom with her husband visited every state in the union with the exception of Alaska as well as touring Italy, Switzerland and Canada. What Flo loved most were her trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Flo fully enjoyed a long retirement retiring in 1984 from N.A.L. Publishing Company as a Data Processing Control Clerk. Flo was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Bergenfield for 29 years and St. Maximilian Kolbe in Toms River for 27 years. Flo belonged to many clubs and organizations throughout her life including the Holiday City Women's Club, Italian American Club, Deborah Chapter of Holiday City Berkeley, Rosary Society and various bowling leagues. Flo cherished most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. Flo was a warm, loving and caring person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
