George Riabov

George Riabov, February 27, 2013 in Falls Church, VA. George was a long time resident of Westwood, NJ. He is the brother of Olga Zoltan, and is survived by sisters-in-law Anne Riabov and Michelle Riabov, nieces Elizabeth Zoltan and husband Robert Caret, Nina Sharrock and husband Robert, nephews Nick Zoltan and Susan Meybohm, John and wife Darelle, Greg and wife Nanette, Kurt and wife Kathleen, and Keith and wife Alexandra. He had numerous loving grandnieces and grandnephews.

George was an Art Historian, devoting his life to collecting and promoting Russian art and culture. His massive art collection he donated to his Alma Mater, Rutgers University, establishing Rutgers as a focal point for the study and research of Russian art. His exhibits, lectures, and tours were sponsored by many educational and cultural establishments: the Smithsonian, MOMA, United Nations, Department of State, and numerous educational institutions throughout the country. George blazed the trail for the importance of understanding the life and culture of Russia through his tireless work. Memory Eternal!
