James E. Hough, 82, of Emerson, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Survived by his longtime devoted friend Yolanda Franco. Beloved father of James E. Hough, Jr., Julie G. Sheridan, and Jonathan R. Hough. Husband of the late Mary Ann Coyle. Dear brother of Elizabeth Ann Hough and the late Robert G. Hough, Jr., and John C. Hough. Loving grandfather of two grandchildren. Born in Englewood and has lived in Emerson for the past 17 years. James dedicated his life to the Lord, preaching the Word to everyone through his work as a missionary. He was a counselor at both Word of Life Bible Camp and at the Salvation Army. He also helped in various Christian charities including E.W.T.N.
The family would like send a special thank you to his caregivers Chmoune and Magda, all the medical professionals who assisted him in his later years, the Emerson Police Dept.. and the Emerson Ambulance Corp. Much gratitude and thanks to Assumption Church priests, eucharistic ministers, and any persons assisting James. The family will receive their friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, on Friday, 5-8 pm. A Mass celebrating James’s life and faith will be held on Saturday at R.C. Church of the Assumption, Emerson at 9:30 am, followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hackensack. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Every Home for Christ ( https://www.ehc.org ).
