Joanne Tadeuszak Keegan, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of grace, devotion, and unconditional love—along with a sharp wit and sparkling sense of humor. She was the devoted wife of the late David DeMont Keegan, who passed away in 1998, and the heart and soul of the Keegan, Krantz, and Langone families.
Joanne was born in Dickson City, Pennsylvania, to Lottie and Anthony Tadeuszak, immigrants from Warsaw, Poland. She shared an unbreakable bond with her sisters, Wanda and Regina. Joanne moved to New York City, where she met her husband while working at an advertising firm. Their journey together led them to Westwood, New Jersey, where they built a warm and loving home on Newark Avenue—a place she cherished and remained for the rest of her life. Joanne eventually reignited her career as an executive secretary at the Westwood Board of Education, where she worked for over 30 years. Her intelligence and organization were unmatched—but it was her dry, clever humor that made every coworker feel like family.
Joanne was known for her warm hospitality and genuine love of gathering people together. She found great joy in opening her home to family and friends, always creating a welcoming space filled with laughter, good food, and heartfelt conversation. A talented cook and thoughtful host, she made every occasion feel special. She especially cherished family vacations, moments that became treasured memories for all.
She is survived by her son, David (Dawn) Keegan, Suzanne Keegan, and Stephanie (Stephen) Langone. Her love and support extended boundlessly to her eight grandchildren—Gabrielle (Christopher) Keegan Dipsia, Matthew Keegan, Michael Krantz, Jane Krantz, Jacqueline Krantz, Christopher (Morgan) Langone, Jack Langone, and Douglas Langone—each of whom she treasured deeply.
A nurturing soul, she gave of herself freely and without hesitation, always placing the needs of others before her own. A woman of elegance and beauty, Joanne carried herself with dignity, grace, and class, even in her final days. She planted seeds of faith in her children and grandchildren, shaping their lives with traditions and values. To know Joanne was to know love in its truest, most selfless form. She was the strength behind every family celebration, every moment of hardship, and every joyful memory. Her love was a constant, her presence a gift and her legacy immeasurable. Joanne will be deeply missed but forever remembered and celebrated in the hearts of those who were blessed to call her family, friend, and neighbor. May she rest in peace, embraced by the eternal love of God.
The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ, on Monday, April 7th, 2025 from 4-7PM. A Memorial Mass Celebrating Joanne's life and faith will be held at St. Andrew R.C. Church in Westwood, NJ on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025 at 10:30AM. Memorial contributions can be made in Joanne's name to the Westwood Ambulance Corps @ Westwoodvolunteerems.org/donate.html
