

John LaRocca, 82 of the Township of Washington, NJ passed away on January 2, 2015. John was born in the Bronx, NY and lived in Riverdale, NY before moving to the Township of Washington 48 years ago. John proudly served his country in the Korean War while enlisted in the US Air Force. He was a lithographer for various companies throughout his career. He was member of the Amalgamated Lithographers of America Local Union #1, in NYC, NY, the VFW in the Township of Washington, and the Korean War Veterans. Everyday John would meet with a group of his friends for coffee which they called “The Breakfast Club”, he was an avid golfer and NY Giants fan and was a member of the Giants Fan Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce (Benintende) LaRocca; his daughters, Lynann Dragone and her husband Mario, Jeanne Lehman and her husband Paul and Karen Ormsby and her husband Chris; his brother, Sebastian LaRocca and his wife Liz; his sister, Teresa Melanson and her husband Bill; his grandchildren, Gabriella Dragone, Jaclyn Lehman, Christian Ormsby and Nicole Lehman as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral from the Becker Funeral Home on Tuesday 9am with a 10am funeral mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Twp. of Washington, NJ. Entombment will follow in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. Visiting hours will be held on Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW, 639 Jefferson Avenue, Township of Washington, NJ 07676 in John’s memory.
