John P. Jr., 59, of Township of Washington, went to the Lord peacefully on July 26, 2012, after battling a pulmonary illness. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend with a heart of gold, and a passion for the Yankees, music, especially the Beatles, history and conversation. John is survived by his parents, John P. Sr. and Lorraine (Piretra) O'Connell, and siblings Timothy, Mary Brown, Daniel, Thomas and wife Pirkko, Ann, Michael, Kathleen and Scott Martin, fourteen nieces and nephews, grand-nephew and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. John's life was blessed with dear friends, Karen, Jack, Kenny, Ernie and Barbara.
Visitation Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ. Funeral Mass Tuesday 10 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Township of Washington, NJ.
