Lesley Cantwell

Lesley Cantwell of Emerson, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Lesley was born on June 22,1950 and grew up in Queens, NY. Lesley was a devoted mother to her daughter, Melissa Doherty, and a loving mother-in-law to Matthew Doherty. Her greatest joy was her role as a grandmother (Mimi) to her two grandchildren, Christopher and Danny, who brought immense pride and happiness into her life. She was a sister to Terry, Kevin, Denise, Gerard, John, Marybeth, Kim, Stacey and Jeanine, whom she loved very much. Lesley worked for many years as a nanny and had a true love for caring for children. She touched the lives of many families that she worked with. Lesley will be remembered for her love of family, her strength, and the care she showed to those around her. Her presence, warmth, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy will live on through the family she loved so dearly.The family will receive their relatives and friends for a memorial visitation on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 2-6pm at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, N.J.
