Celsa Matilde Gonzalez, age 98, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2020 due to an illness. Matilde was born on November 21, 1921 in Guánica, Puerto Rico to Emilio Ortiz and Catalina Vargas. She married her friend and love Eugenio Gonzalez and lived in New York City. Eugenio preceded her in death on October 1982. For many years Matilde worked as a seamstress in New York City. She was a dedicated daughter and mother first and foremost. She treasured her children. She was gentle, loving and caring and enjoyed spending time with family. Matilde is survived by her three children their spouses, three grandchildren and three great grand children. We will miss her but now she is in God’s hands. Matilde will be interred privately at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, New Jersey.
