MURPHY, Maurice P., 85, of Township of Washington, NJ, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017. Born in Glencarney, Rockchapel, County Cork, Ireland, he lived for 33 years in the Township of Washington. Beloved husband of Mary Murphy (nee McGarry). Devoted father of Maureen Roder and her husband Paul, Eileen Desvousges and her husband Ingro, Maurice Murphy and his wife Sharon, John Murphy, Donna McGoldrick and her husband John. Dear brother of Kathleen Meehan, Eileen Degnan, Denis Murphy, Mary Horgan, Margaret Smith and Phillip Murphy. Predeceased by his sister, Sheila Prendiville and two brothers, Timothy and John Joe Murphy. Loving grandfather of Rachel and Ryan Roder, Peter and Crystal Desvousges, Kiera, Maurice and Shane Murphy, Conor and Seamus McGoldrick. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Wednesday, March 22 from 4-8PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Maurice’s life and faith will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, Twp. of Washington, NJ on Thursday, March 23 time to be announced. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
