 Dear Liz and Molly and Zachery, I am a second cousin of Mike's. My dad Gerry foley(sligo) was your Grandmothers brother. I, lived in N.J. when I first came to the U.S. back in the early 70's and Lived w/ jim and annette.I, knew your grannny and grandad well. 
I, am so sorry for your loss, I cried viewing the Video, he looked like a fun filed young man..a true finan and mcgowen for sure.

Westwood is a little sadder place without Mike here.  He will be sorely missed by all of us.  But his love, spirit, and energy live on, in Lizzie, Molly, and Zach.  He was the kind of Dad we all aspire to be.  We will always be here for you guys, and Mike will always live in your hearts and warm memories.  Every time I think of Mike, I can't help but smile. I always would see Michael at the best of times for our families - either holidays, weddings or special get-togethers. He was family to me and always fun to see. He was a great guy married to my wonderful cousin Liz. From them I have two fantastic second cousins Molly and Zach - who show so much of their parents in them. I'll  miss Michael and wish I could have and should have seen him again these past couple of years. My sincere condolences Liz, Molly and Zach - Love from your Cousin from Canada Robin.

Mike and I were friends for more than 30 years and I have known Lizzie longer than that. Mike was a truly beautiful person who deeply loved his family and friends. His wake tonight was a tribute to this very special man. There were dozens of people coming and going to pay their respects. I loved Mike dearly and will never forget the great times we had over all these years. I pledge to you dear friend that I will always be there for Lizzie, Molly & Zach. I Love You Brother. Lizzie, I was so shocked and saddened to hear this terrible news. I remember meeting Mike at your dad's 70th birthday party and being impressed by his sense of humour, caring and generous spirit. Again, at Uncle Toney's funeral, Mike's eulogy really captured your father's essence and I was impressed all over again. Such a terrible loss for your entire family, but especially you and your children. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May God hold you all close to the heart.

I first came to know Mike when he would bring Molly to children's choir, always so happy to see his little girl singing.  I than would notice him from my position in the choir, joining us as we sang our praises.  I approached him on more than one occasion telling him he should join St. Andrew's Choir.  He always laughed it off and yet I would see him singing in his seat.  More recently, I started seeing him at the gym, both of us sweating trying to give the machines 5 more minutes.  I would see Mike at Molly's softball games cheering from the sidelines.   You only had to look at Mike to know that his family meant the world to him.  Today when I heard of his sudden passing, sadness overcame me.  I talked about Mike today and to those who didn't know him, I found myself saying:  " he was a man who always had a smile on his face. "  
And so I say to you Mike, with a song in my heart.
     "May the road rise to meet you.   May the wind be always at your back.  And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.  "
