Muriel McCarthy, age 86 formerly from Hillsdale, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 24, 2018.

Born on March 15, 1932 to the late Mary and Frank Devine of Brooklyn, NY.

Predeceased by William McCarthy and Eugene Jackson and her brother and sisters ; Frank Devine, Margaret (Charlie) LaPaglia, and Eileen Devine. Survived by her loving children; William (Debbie), Catherine(Richard),Mary (late Harold),

Fran (Scott), Justin ( late Lori), Eugene(Courtney).

Her 11 grandchildren Cara (Scott), Scott, Shannon, Caitlin, Courtnie, William, Luke, Gillian, Caleigh, Ryleigh and Logan and her great grandson Cooper.

The loving sister of her surviving brother John(Pat) Devine. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and all the” children” she opened her doors to throughout the years.

She is loved and missed by all, ”you can’t take Brooklyn out of the girl.”

The family would like to thank all their family and friends and many thanks to the PALS program of the Westwood house and the Atrium of Park Ridge for their wonderful care. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Thursday, November 29 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Muriel’s life and faith will be held at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 69 Valley Street, Hillsdale, NJ on Friday, November 30 at 10AM. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
