Patrick G. Lionetti died on May 28, 2022 at the age of 98 at the Veteran’s Home in Paramus, NJ. He was a long time resident of Toms River (Berkeley Township), NJ.
Patrick was born in the Bronx, NY where he grew up with four siblings and worked in several family businesses. At age 18 he joined the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate during WWII. He proudly served our country until the war ended in 1945 when he was honorably discharged. He then married and moved to Pearl River, NY to raise a family. He worked several jobs in the automotive field, from auto-body work to driver’s ed. instructor. He became an industrial arts teacher in the Bronx, NY, teaching for 30 years.
After divorcing, he remarried and ultimately moved to Toms River upon retirement, living there with his late beloved wife Barbara. The couple volunteered for many worthy causes including the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Catholic Charities Deborah and Community Center Hospital, as well as being active Catholic Church members.
Patrick is survived by his three children; Dominick A. Lionetti and his wife Valerie, Kathryn A. Lionetti-Goldfarb and her husband Jeffrey and Roselyn Deats and her husband Mark.
He is survived by 4 grandchildren; Matthew, Theresa, Jonathan and Amanda and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Thursday, June 2 from 3-7PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Patrick's life and faith will be held at St. Aedan R.C. Church 23 Reld Drive, Pearl River, NY on Friday, June 3 at 10AM. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY. All guests will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing at both the wake at the funeral and the Mass at St. Aedan R.C. Church.
