Rita Ann Vassallo

VASSALLO, Rita A., 72, of Saddle River, NJ, formerly of River Vale, NJ, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014. She was born in the Bronx, NY to Joseph and Pauline Como. Beloved wife of 46 years to Gary Vassallo. Devoted mother of Jo-Ann Cooley and her husband John, and Stephanie Vassallo. Cherished grandmother of Harrison, Leo and Isabella. Dear sister of Beatrice and Paula. Rita was an avid golfer and a member of White Beeches Country Club and a member of Frenchman’s Reserve of Palm Beach Gardens. She was a parishioner of St. Pius X R. C. Church, Old Tappan, NJ. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Tuesday, May 27 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Rita's life and faith will be held at St. Pius X R.C. Church, Old Tappan, NJ on Wednesday, May 28 at 10AM. Entombment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Rita’s name to The Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ and/or The Robert and Audrey Luckow Pavilion, 1 Valley Health Plaza, Paramus, NJ 07652
