Son of Angelo and Benvenuta Stellon, whose lives in war torn Italy greatly influenced their values and instilled those on their children.
Raised in the Bronx, Roy worked in terrazzo as he put himself through Pharmacy School at Fordham University. He served as a commissioned officer in the Army and married the love of his life, Jessie Chen while stationed in the state of Washington. Returning from the Army and after their road trip across the country, he opened a pharmacy, Dumont Drugs, serving the community for over half a century. As a Pharmacist, Roy enjoyed interacting with his customers which led him to continue working after selling his Pharmacy, until he was 90. He was an immensely proud and capable person that solved the challenges he faced throughout the years both in business and in life. While a successful businessman, more than anything else he valued his family. His fondest joy came from engaging with family members and witnessing their growth and success. He was clearly a catalyst to their closeness, values, and motivation.
Roy also cherished the countless friendships he made throughout his life, including his gym buddies who referred to him as the Chairman of the Board. Roy lived a very full life, involved with his friends and family while living independently in the home he designed and built for his family in 1963. His love and determination remained strong through his final days as his family tried to reflect on his devotion by continually being by his side while he tried to rally each day to engage those that came to visit him. His loss leaves a void in the many lives that he touched, while his legacy leaves an abundance of influence and cherished memories.
