Ronald Alan Danks, “Ron Mouse” to his friends, passed away unexpectedly at home on August 27th, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents Fran and Glen and his fiancé Debbie. He is survived by his uncle Clyde R. Danks and his cousins Kelly, Phillip, Michael and Melissa.
Ron was born and raised in Emerson, NJ, “The Family Town”. Upon graduating Emerson High School in 1974, he was the recipient of the Humanities Award. He then went off to college in Ohio, finishing his education at Fairleigh Dickinson University in NJ with a major in history and minor in graphic arts.
Career wise, he worked for Sanyo for many years as well as on a stage in the Upper West Side of New York City; where he also resided for a long period of time. But will be best remembered for his love of music and art.
Starting with his high school marching band, Ron loved playing music. His first band won his high school “Battle of the Bands” contest featuring Ron's organ solo. He played piano, Hammond organ and bass guitar. He loved performing in bands for live audiences, especially at his church, and also loved attending concerts. He was a man of strong faith in the Lord and always had his bible by his side.
At home, Ron enjoyed playing and singing gospel songs on his Yamaha piano named, "Stella". He also loved Grateful Dead’s music and performed in several tribute bands. At the time of Ron’s passing, he was still playing some of his best shows. A favorite with his fans, Ron will be fondly missed by all his bandmates, past and present. He always found great joy in sharing his love of music with others. Many were inspired and uplifted by Ron's gifts.
As a man, Ron’s support and generosity to his friends was unmatched. He put his money where his mouth was in believing in people and helping them achieve their goals. Many may not know this about Ron because as the bible says in Matthew 6:3-4...
"3: But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth
4:That thine alms may be in secret, and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly."
That was Ron.
Ron loved sketching, fuzzy little critters, the Sunday comics, a good game of scrabble and a dish of ice cream for dessert. The number of people who loved him and will miss him is larger than even Ron knew. Rest in Peace dear friend.
🎵It all rolls into one
And nothing comes for free
There's nothing you can hold
For very long
And when you hear that song
Come crying like the wind
It seems like all this life
Was just a dream
Stella Blue🎵
