

Amedeo Antonio "Tony" Cicchetti of Hartford, passed away on November 1, 2022, at the age of 95. He was born in 1927 in Castelmauro, Campobasso, Italy, and came to the United States in 1946. He was a man of utmost integrity and fierce independence, dedicated to his family and his trade as a Master Tailor. Amedeo was the proud owner of his own tailoring business for over 50 years, most of them in downtown Hartford, and he was widely recognized as the best at his craft. He was predeceased by his parents, Nicola and Maria Giuseppina (Sticca) Cicchetti, and his sister, Rose Cicchetti D’Angelo.
Amedeo is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Teresa (Colantonio) Cicchetti, his daughter, Josephine, and her husband, James Jorden, of Miami Beach, Florida, and his son Anthony, of Litchfield, CT. Amedeo is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in the United States and Italy, Egidio and Anna Colantonio, Giuseppe Colantonio, and Maria Colantonio, along with many nieces and nephews in the United States and Italy, including Claudia and Brian Horgan and John and Louann D’Angelo. His unique presence will always be missed but never forgotten by his family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, at Saint Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford. Attendees are requested to meet directly at the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. The D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield has been entrusted with the arrangements.
