

Amelia (Rizzo) Pagliuca, 81, of Hartford and Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Ferdinando “Alfredo” Pagliuca, passed away peacefully on Wednesday (January 30, 2013) at Ellis Manor in Hartford. Born on August 23, 1931 in Chiusano San Domenico, province of Avellino, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Enrico and Nunzia (DeNapoli) Rizzo and came to America in 1966. Amelia worked for Battiston’s in Bloomfield, American Linen in Hartford and Franco’s Restaurant in Hartford. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, there was nothing more important to her than her family. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Amelia is survived by her devoted son, Vincenzo Pagliuca and his wife Adriana of Berlin; three adored grandchildren, Vincenzo, Jr., Elisia and Gabriel; three brothers, Raffaele “Ralph” Rizzo, Generoso “Joe” Rizzo and wife, Sandra, all of Wethersfield and Carmine Rizzo and wife Angela of Hartford; her niece, Nancy (Rizzo) Lamore and husband Michael; her nephew, Rick Rizzo and wife Tina and her grand-nephew, Carmine Rizzo, as well as cousins in Massachusetts and Italy. In addition to her husband and parents, Amelia was predeceased by her brother, Enrico Rizzo and her sister-in-law, Anna Rizzo. Amelia’s family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Ellis Manor for their care and compassion.
Funeral service will be Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Church, 66 Bolton St., Hartford.
