

Charles Clinton 'Chuck' Crane III, 58, of Newington, husband of Deborah (Rizza) Crane, died on Wednesday, (September 3, 2008) in Philadelphia after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Hartford, son of the late Charles C. and Dorothy (Horgan) Crane, Jr., Chuck lived in Hartford for many years prior to moving to Newington 27 years ago. He was a carpenter by trade and was employed by the Board of Education in the City of Hartford. Chuck was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict. Chuck was an avid sports enthusiast and a big Dallas Cowboy fan. Besides his devoted wife of 27 years, he is survived by two loving children, a daughter, Corey Lynn Crane and a son, Charles C. Crane, IV, both of Newington; three brothers, Roy Crane of South Windsor, Rickey Crane of Meriden and Marty Crane of Plainville; two sisters, Bonnie Dandelske of West Haven and Carol Rodgers of MA and one grandchild, Aundrea. Chuck was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Crane. Funeral will be Monday, September 8 beginning at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church St, Newington. Burial with full Military Honors will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
