

Charles Edward Sowle, 50, died unexpectedly (March 1, 2006) at Hartford Hospital of heart complications. He was born February 21, 1956 in Bar Harbor, Maine to Cecil E. and Mabel Tozier Sowle. Charles is survived by his best friend and sister, Nance Sowle of East Hampton; Evelyn Raley, Fairfield, Maine; Cindy Bach Driggs, Idaho; Eugene Cunningham, Carmel, Maine and Edward Cunningham, Coventry; and other extended family members. Especially important to him were Haylie and Donna, and his nieces Tria, Mikki and Sami. Charles attended East Hampton High. He worked at CCRC in Hartford and Manchester Redemption before moving to Glastonbury where he was assistant manager at Manager's Mobile. Charles was passionate about music and played lead guitar with many area bands. He loved to cook and did so at Glastonbury's Fred's Place and Maple Café. He often combined both talents to raise money for local charities. Charles was a kind spirit whose sense of humor and intellectual wit brightened the lives of all who knew him. A celebration of Charles' life will be Saturday, March 11, 11 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 30 Carter Street in East Hartford.
